The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra this morning is donating $15,000 to the campaign for the new Oishei Children’s Hospital.
The orchestra, which raised the money through a Doctors of the World concert in July, will use the funds to start an endowment “that will help to build the foundation for bringing Buffalo’s culturals to the children and their families in the new Oishei Children’s Hospital,” it said in a statement.
JoAnn Falletta, the orchestra’s music director, will present the check to Allegra Jaros, president of Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, during an event this morning.
The $270 million John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital is expected to be constructed by November 2017.
